TODAY’S ANGEL CAROL
is the second verse of
A Carol of The Cosmos,
a contemporary carol
which celebrates the coming of Jesus,
together with all the denizens
of the vastness of space.
It is sung to the tune of the Finlandia hymn tune
by Sibelius, and the whole four verse
carol can be found HERE
(If you wish to use A Carol of the Cosmos, please note the copyright to it - which you will find together with the whole carol at the link above)
You nightly stars surrounding Bethlehem,
Prepare yourselves to be eclipsed this night,
An angel host, with joyful beating wings
Clothes all the waiting hills with brilliant light.
And shepherds, spurned by those of wealth and might,
Are first to see the Christ, this holy sight.
...And suddenly, there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host,
praising God and saying
‘Glory to God in the highest heaven
and on earth peace...’ Luke 2 vv 13 & 14
