Treasure the mystery of beauty in nature,
exquisite colours in miniscule lives;
gradations of light that reflect from a
feather,
the mesmeric flash as a kingfisher dives.
Irrational joy from a tumble of flowers,
a wild range of perfumes from herbs in the
sun,
delicate leaves in many-hued bowers,
breathtaking leaps of deer at a run.
These gifts, science tells us, evolved down
the ages,
only the fittest adapt to survive.
Yet, is it not baffling, utility’s progress
so often gladdens our minds and our eyes?
Could it be that our senses are blazing a
sign?
Here is balm for our souls from a Godhead
benign.
