The Eco-Fayre sideshows were developed to help those who are attracted to play on them realise that they can help to bring about positive change towards lowering the impact of Climate Change.
The message is, at heart, simple. Scoring on all the attractions has a common theme - images used of Clean Air Technologies score high; images of dangerous, dirty fuel generation (Coal, Oil, Gas, Shale) are associated with low scores. Descriptions of most of the available sideshows can be found by going to the home page of this blog.
All the stalls are portable in a large car or small van. The largest is a screen as shown at the top of this page - it measures 8ft by 4ft. It is, of all the sideshows, the most impactful.
All the other sideshows are more compact, so it is possible to borrow others that could all be transported in a small car.
The sideshows are stored at St Mary’s Rectory in High Street, Fen Ditton ,CB5 8ST.
Borrowers must collect and deliver the sideshows from/ to that address (Or occasionally from the church which is close by). Swift return of the equipment is essential, please, to allow other borrowers to benefit from them: so please take this into account if thinking about borrowing the equipment
Requests to borrow the equipment should be addressed to Trevor Thorn at crossandcosmos@gmail.com
I am also working on explaining how to construct the sideshows - most of them rely on recycling boxes and other easily found materials (June 2025). These explanatory notes should be available July/August 2025.
