This is the fourteenth song written for primary age children so they can be encouraged to think about science as part of God’s creation and to look at how the sciences can help us understand the glory of that creation.
The songs are easy to learn and easy to sing because most of them have tunes that will be recognised. The scientific basis has been checked by well-qualified scientists to give anyone who uses them confidence. We hope you will enjoy the songs. If you should feel daunted by the possibility of being asked questions you can’t answer, you may find Keynotes and FAQs helpful
If you enjoy this song, please pass it to other parents, teachers, youth leaders, carers you feel might also find it helpful.

‘Clouds’- When The Clouds Above The Fen* Roll In:
Homeschool Song No 14
When the clouds above the fen* roll in,
some are deep and dark and grey and grim;
they are sure to bring the rain,
we might feel the pressure change
as the drops begin to roll down to the dra-a-ain.
Water falls into the rivers and streams,
and the reservoirs where it’s made clean;
so that each of us can drink
and we never need to think
whether bugs and germs might cause us any pa-a-ain.
When rain falls upon the farms and fields,
it will help the crops produce their yields,
just as we know clouds contain water for our drinks and grain,
we can thank God for the life in falling ra-a-ain.
Yes! Let’s thank God for the gen'rous rain,
mindful others plead for it in vain,
so let’s think out how can we
use all water carefully,
this most precious gift that life sustains.
**When using this song, ‘fen’ is intended to be replaced by ‘hills’, ‘sea’, ‘town’ or any single syllable world appropriate to the locality where the song is sung.
