(I apologise for the odd placing of punctuation marks in this short poem. It was written whilst in Israel and the right alignment produced these odd effects which I have not been able to correct so far. I will continue to cry - but please read on with this oddity in mind: thank you)
Beside Galilee.
In silence, we sat by Galilee
Beside Galilee.
In silence, we sat by Galilee
Hazy moon
And stars obscured by warm clouds
Preventing us from seeing
Beyond earth's hilly horizon
Across the lake
Strange to think that
Two millennia since
The maker of everything
Beneath and beyond those diaphanous clouds
Sailed upon these warm waters
With his friends
And in a storm
Inconceivable at this moment of calm
prepared them
For the most momentous challenge
