Vivid Winter’s Morn
Vivid Winter’s morn,
Orange glowing sun
Shines upon the hills,
White where frost has run
Fingers on the clay,
Patterns on the ground.
In this wintry waste
Love of loves is found
Found in a baby
cradled in the straw
Laid in a manger
on an earthen floor;
Found in a baby
laid where cattle roam,
Born on a
journey many miles from home,
Found in a baby,
But more, more,
more than a baby.
Stormy bitter cold
In the depth of night,
Shepherds on the hills
See a startling sight;
Sky is all aflame,
Then a wondrous sound,
‘Here in Bethlehem
love of loves is found.’
Found in a baby
cradled in the straw
Laid in a manger
on an earthen floor;
Found in a baby
laid where cattle roam,
Born on a
journey many miles from home,
Found in a baby,
But more, more,
more than a baby.
‘Come and see the child
born to save the world,
in a Virgin’s arms
you will find him curled.
Gaze upon that child
In a cattle pound,
There in God’s own Son,
Love of loves is found.’
Come see the
baby cradled in the straw
He is the God,
whom heaven and earth adore
Come see the
baby laid where cattle roam
He is the God
who makes this earth his home:
Come see the
baby,
