Absence
of you,
Great
gift of the Creator
Reveals
the billions upon billions of solar presences
Beyond
us:
It
is you that picks out the gaps of the nocturnal:
What
wonder!
In
your presence
Greyness
recedes from the gloom,
Supplanted
by
Vibrancy
of colour,
Perception
of distance
And
the delight of an expanding horizon:
What
wonder!
Your
components,
Revealed
wonderfully
By
rain, mist, glass or gemstone
Have
a brilliance
Beyond
the creative imagination
Of
human sentience:
They
dazzle,
They
corruscate,
They
take the breath away
With
their loveliness
And with their imprecision:
What
wonder!
Dancing
colours,
Distilled
from you,
Full
of delight for the eye:
You
generate wonder
As
you fashion the arc of a rainbow:
What
wonder!
Are
you one of the gifts
Which
veils the presence
Of
your maker?
A
gift which has the honour
Of
hiding the face of
The
Holy, The Immortal One?
The
sheer wonder
Of
your manifestations
Implies,
could be!
That
the dazzling, dancing beauty
With
which you have been invested
Hints
at such greater role,
Ethereal,
far beyond the earth-bound.
Sweet
Light,
You
astonishing gift of the Creator,
Reveal
to us
At
the appropriate time
Yet
more beauty,
Yet
more glory,
Yet
more wonders
Than
the many, many, many you reveal before us now.
