A Universe – and Hope of Heaven
(Colossians 1 v 16 ‘all was created through Christ and for him ... and he holds all things together.’)
Gracious Lord Jesus, you were there
midst the
birthing of Creation.
Then, when the time was ripe,
You brought us your Salvation;
offered us new life in you,
through your
Passion, time-unbound Jew.
Rooted in dawn of time and space,
Framed in the history of your race.
Prophets and sages foretold your coming
to our world,
round sun rotating:
a nurturing
sphere,
evolving life; to you,
so
dear.
Such mighty gifts, all freely given,
a universe – and hope of heaven.
