Prayer when overwhelmed

From time to time, many of us feel inadequate or insignificant. In a collection such as this, a prayer with that theme feels appropriate.

Creator God,

whose Spirit streams throughout the universe

bearing the love of the Redeemer

to the furthest reaches of the cosmos;

hold me, I pray, in your everlasting arms

whenever I am overwhelmed

by my own insignificance and inadequacy.

Then remind me of 
the great love of your Son

who laid down his life

for me, even for me. Amen
