reveals the same stars Francis saw.
A mere eight hundred years have not
changed these nocturnal suns,
save for the Lodestar's minute shift
and rare variations as brightnesses fall or lift.
Sister moon still manifests herself
gently gliding from east to west
across this timeless starscape
as her month begins and ends.
And we, with deeper comprehensions of these nightly gifts
can still lift praises to the God
who called Francis to make the Cosmos
