Earlier in the year, we celebrated Pam’s birthday in River View, Iken Cliff above the River Alde.
I was smitten! So we returned to celebrate my birthday.

I had yearned to return,
to the cottage on the cliff
that overlooks The Alde.
Throughout our journey
(taken in a newly-acquired, used EV!),
I had fretted.
Maybe the retreat would not be
up to my high expectations.
We arrived in intermittent rain.
Leaving the car and rounding a corner;
kissing the far banks, a glorious rainbow.
The tide was full:
Joy in abundance.
