Come, give thanks for gifts of science
that bring healing in their wake;
keep us safe, relieve our anguish,
soothe our wounds, and help us make
illnesses be eased or cured,
plagues and sickness chased away;
novel cancer interventions,
epidemics held at bay.
For research that seeks the causes
of such ills, we give great thanks.
And for paths that seek for insights
hidden in health databanks.
These are blessings, though they’re costly
so we pray for justice, when
new solutions are uncovered,
needing global stratgems
Many who were healed by Jesus
will have spread his name abroad,
telling of his deep compassion
for the outcast and the flawed.
Let us, then, as their successors
wide proclaim this gift of grace;
Christ’s desire for the well-being
of his love, the human race.
