Thank you Greenbelt at Home for bringing us to this topic again: it is clear people such as me need to be constantly reminded of these and other major injustices. This was written in the earlier stages of Lockdown
Confession of a white man.
Creator God,
I cannot even begin to conceive
what it must be like
to be constantly denigrated
simply because
of the colour
of my skin.
Creator God,
I cannot even begin to conceive
what it must be like
to be constantly denigrated
simply because
of my gender.
So, God of the whole of creation,
arouse in me
such a passionate desire
for justice and equality
that I will campaign for
those worn down
by the imbalances
that all too easily
make me and my kind
arrogant and oppressive.
