Day 27 - For the families of stillborn babies or of children that have died young
DAY 27 MORNING
It is deeply distressing to encounter those sad times when children pre-decease their parents: so our prayers today focus on the parents and families of children that are stillborn or who die at a young age.
Prayer – Lord Jesus Christ we hold before you all those parents who have to grieve the death of their own children, and pray that those who minister to them may either find the right words to say or sense the need to just be alongside them and share their grief with tears or in silence
DAY 27 EVENING
We offer up to you all who have been stillborn or have died at a young age and we remember those Mothers who died giving birth. For those who are unable to get the medical help and assistance they need.
Prayer – Holy Lord we weep with those who have lost a child this day. May those infants rest in Peace and rise in glory.
Day 28 - For World leaders that their conscience would lead them to justice, compassion & fairness
DAY 28 MORNING
For the leaders of all nations praying that those who put themselves and greed ahead of the needs of the people they represent may have their consciences disturbed to the point that they change their ways.
We remember the leaders of our own country giving thanks for the faithfulness of our Queen Elizabeth. We pray for the Prime Minister, the Government and the Opposition that they may have the interests of the poorest and the marginalised at the heart of any decisions they may make this day
Prayer – God save our gracious Queen and all in authority under her
DAY 28 EVENING
That in the hearts of all World Leaders may be a desire for peace and justice. For those leaders who have erred we pray that they made be made to confront the pain and suffering they are inflicting by their selfish actions.
Prayer – Dearest God, through the power of prayer and through the love of our Lord Jesus Christ may World leaders be made to confront the consequences of their actions
Day 29 - for those who have died during the past night and those who will die this day or night
DAY 29 MORNING
Death comes unexpectedly to some through accident, unfortunate circumstance, illness or in war zones. With this in mind we hold before you those who have lost their lives during the past night and for those who will lose their life today. We pray for their family and friends as they receive this news.
Prayer – Loving Heavenly Father we pray for the souls of all who will depart this life today especially for any who have lived good and faithful lives. We give thanks for all they have done.
DAY 29 EVENING
We remember that each time someone dies several others can become involved. As we think of people who will have died this day we say a special thank you for any who have comforted them in their hour of death, for the emergency services who will have dealt with the various circumstances arising from the deaths and for any good Samaritans who have tried to help as best possible.
Prayer – Dearest Lord we pray for funeral directors and for all pastoral ministers
Day 30 - For all who are frightened
DAY 30 MORNING
We know people are frightened for a variety of reasons. Let us remember those who live in fear, those frightened by other family members, those frightened of being attacked. We hold before you any who are frightened by a medical condition, those in fear of a knock on the door by a money lender or a bailiff.
Prayer – By your mercy help us to recognise anyone in fear and then to offer to be a comfort
DAY 30 EVENING
We hold before you this night any who fear an attack by a gang or someone bearing a grievance. For all in fear from terrorists.
As this day gives way to night we remember all who in the darkness are frightened.
Prayer – Father God may they know the comfort of your love and may your Holy Angels guard over them. Amen
Day 31 - For all who self-harm
DAY 31 MORNING
The act of self-harming is often a sign that something else is amiss. We pray that those who self- harm may find help for the underlying reason of their self- harming
DAY 31 EVENING
We pray for all who will self-harm this night that they may not do permanent damage to themselves and that they will find someone they can confide in about the reasons behind their actions
Day 32 - For any who have been abandoned
DAY 32 MORNING
Remember all who this day feel abandoned. Those who have been turned out of their home through conflict. For all who have been let down. For children sold into slavery. Remembering any for whom life feels hopeless.
Lord we hold in your presence all this day feeling abandoned and on their own. May they never be deprived of the care you have for them.
DAY 32 EVENING
Day 33 - For all who long for reconciliation
For all living on the streets of the World this night and who feel thoroughly alone and abandoned. We pray that a stranger may engage with them to give them new hope. This we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord and Saviour
DAY 33 MORNING
Remember any who long for reconciliation either with children, parents or family. We think of all those stupid disagreements that have got out of hand and that have escalated to the point of a break up in relationships. For all who long for reconciliation but are frightened or too stubborn to make the first move. Melt all our hearts O Lord
DAY 33 EVENING
We pray this night for reconciliation amongst Nations. We pray for those leaders in power and authority by whose actions alone reconciliation can be achieved. May they be open to the voices of those who aspire for reconciliation
