Last year Peter, my younger brother produced a collection of short meditations and prayers, one for each morning and one for each evening of the forty days of Lent. He called the collection simply Forty Days and Forty Nights. Many of the thoughts have accompanying illustrations. Although Peter intended the collection to be for his personal use, as a way of bringing before God the principal themes and issues of our strange times, he decided to share it with me.
It felt to me that these brief reflections might be of help to others, especially those who might like to lay the complex issues of the day before God systematically.
The first part of the collection will be published here this Wednesday, then further parts each Monday for the coming week. These can be accessed each week (or each day if you prefer) using the headline address for this blog, which is http://crossandcosmos.blogspot.com
If you decide to follow Peter’s sequence, he and I hope you find them helpful,
Trevor Thorn (privileged to be Peter’s brother)
